I'm Max De Vos — operational systems architect, based in Ghent. I didn't arrive at ERP in a straight line, and that's exactly the point.

01 — Where I started

Design & the web

Illustrator, Photoshop, WordPress, branding. I learned to build things people actually want to use — and that clarity isn't luck, it's something you design.

02 — Where it got real

Operations on the floor

Then I got pulled closer to how businesses actually operate: warehouses, production floors, the real mechanics of getting product out the door. That's where I learned the prettiest process map means nothing if it breaks under a Monday-morning order rush.

03 — Where it came together

ERP & Business Central

So I went deeper — into the systems that hold an operation together. Architecting Business Central implementations where the flows, the data and the people all line up.

04 — Where it's going

AI & automation

Now I build agents and workflows that take the manual weight off the people doing the work — AI where it removes real, repetitive work, not where it makes a headline.

See the whole system. Reduce the chaos. Make it scale.

Every engagement starts the same way: I map the whole system before I touch any part of it, because most software problems turn out to be flow problems wearing a disguise. I'd rather be clear than clever, and I'd rather show you how the pieces connect than ask you to trust me. The architecture is the value — you should be able to see it.

And I hold every change to one test: does it remove complexity, or add it? That goes for the ERP core, for the automation layered on top, and for the AI I bring in — proven, not hyped. I'm a system thinker who's actually stood on the floor, and it shows in what I leave behind: systems the team still runs, long after I'm gone.

03 — Off the clock

Ghent, family, and a lot of kilometres.

Home is Ghent, with the best part of my life — my wife and our two young kids.

I'm also a bit obsessed with endurance sport. Several marathons and a half-distance triathlon are behind me, and right now I'm deep in triathlon training — early alarms, pool lanes, long rides. Naturally, I can't help combining my two loves: I build AI agents that support my own training. Curious, grounded, always learning — same in the pool as in the codebase.
